You could tell she was trying to put on a good face and do what she could do. But when she left, she walked through a door, and you could just hear this guttural scream at the top of her lungs mixed with tears.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Games in 2018 would be a different story. Again in overtime with Canada, Schwartz was stressed, and co-workers pointed out a nervous tick he had developed watching the game. Team USA came out on top, and after the game, Schwartz recalls, \u201cI didn\u2019t even get a question out to Gigi Marvin before she smiled at me and she says, \u2018Now, isn\u2019t this so much better than the last time?\u2019 That was absolutely incredible.\u201d <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cNormally as sports reporters, there\u2019s always a barrier between professional athletes and us,\u201d Schwartz said. \u201cWhat I love most about covering the Olympics is the unique bond you develop with these athletes. Frankly, you become emotionally invested. We\u2019re all Team USA. Halfway through the race, the US is still in first place.
