But along comes Phelps, prompting Greg to take back the spotlight and show that \u201cprogress is perfection.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Phelps Partners with Visa for the Olympics Throughout His Career<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559738&quot;:360,&quot;335559739&quot;:120,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Phelps\u2019 Olympic career started at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney at age 15. He did not win any medals, but that didn\u2019t stop Visa from using him in an ad for the 2004 games in Athens.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=cwJkkQ878Rs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The 30-second spot<\/a> features Phelps swimming laps between the Parthenon in Athens, Greece, and the Statue of Liberty in New York City in order to promote \u201cthe only card accepted at this summer\u2019s Olympic Games.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The next Visa campaign to star Phelps would be in 2012 with the &#8220;Go World\u201d campaign in several different ads. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bjRzbhic23k\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">In this 30-second spot<\/a>, Morgan Freeman narrates Phelps\u2019 most thrilling victory \u2014 winning by 1\/100th of a second at the 2008 Games in Beijing. Freeman also reassures audiences that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rRaLMlZ0nWg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Phelps is indeed human<\/a>, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=FXVHJuyDYrk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">this spot<\/a> congratulates him on \u201cwinning more gold medals than anyone, ever.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Under\u00a0Armo<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">u<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">r\u00a0&amp; Phelps Win More Than Gold Medals\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559738&quot;:360,&quot;335559739&quot;:120,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Like Visa, Under Armour is a brand that has used Phelps in several ad campaigns throughout his Olympic career, despite not being an Olympic sponsor. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qjnEciwYRX0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Protect This House<\/a> campaign showed Phelps in the gym, training hard for the 2012 Games in London, in which he became the most decorated Olympian of all time.<\/p>\n<p>Following his 2012 run, Phelps announced his retirement \u2014 but he didn\u2019t stay retired that long. Phelps returned for the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, where he won five more gold medals and one silver. But prior to the Rio Games, Phelps worked with Under Armour on the campaign.
