data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Data sh<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">owed <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">that TV <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">viewership <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">increased <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">+<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">56%<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">and <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">+<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">46%<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">respectively<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> in those <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">markets <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">during those events<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, p<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">articularly for f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">eature films, news, and general format programming.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cBe it snowstorms, hurricanes or a global pandemic, media users ramp up their media consumption to stay informed, kill time, find solace and stay in touch with others,\u201d Nielsen said in the report<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> While Ni<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">e<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">lsen measured the two specific areas affected, a near country-wide quarantine could have <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">n even are up substantially. \u201c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We have seen our daily average users grow by 54% in the last five days<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> compared to the previous <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">five<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> days<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u201d says Fehrmann<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. <\/span><span
