To help brands gear up for the upcoming holiday season, we\u2019re sharing insights on the ways consumers plan to shop in the last few months of 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Here\u2019s what your brand needs to know as you plan for the upcoming holiday season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Holiday Spending Will Rise<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A recent <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/martechseries.com\/analytics\/data-management-platforms\/new-data-quantum-metric-finds-majority-americans-emotionally-invested-2021-holiday-season-boosting-expected-ecommerce-spending\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Martech survey<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> found that 64% of consumers expect this season to be bigger and more meaningful than 2020. As a result:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.emarketer.com\/content\/how-retailers-start-planning-2021-holiday-season\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">eMarketer is forecasting<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> U.S. holiday retail sales to rise +2.7% from 2020 \u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">62% of consumers plan to spend more this holiday season than pre-covid 2019 (Martech)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">38% of consumers anticipate spending $600+ on their holiday shopping this year (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shopkick.com\/press\/press-releases\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Shopkick<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">)\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Shoppers Will Start Early\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With consumers feeling more emotionally invested this holiday season, many will begin shopping earlier than in years past. Half of the respondents in a recent <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/martechseries.com\/analytics\/data-management-platforms\/new-data-quantum-metric-finds-majority-americans-emotionally-invested-2021-holiday-season-boosting-expected-ecommerce-spending\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Martech survey<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> said they plan to start buying holiday gifts well before Black Friday. Additionally:\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">66% will avoid major shopping holidays due to potential out-of-stock issues or potential errors in their online shopping purchases\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">29% of Millennials say that it will take about a week to make a holiday purchase decision\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>E-Commerce is Dominant<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Online shopping habits created during the pandemic seem like they are here to stay, at least through the holiday season. eMarketer has found that:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">E-commerce sales are forecasted to rise 11% during the 2021 holiday season<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u200bExperts expect that nearly 19% of the total holiday season retail sales will come from e-commerce. \u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>But In-Store Shopping Isn\u2019t Dead<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">While many consumers are still planning to do most of their shopping online this year, in-store shopping will still be essential for many.
