Chris Jensen Has Been Named President and Publisher of the Daily Advertiser in Lafayette, La.
ARLINGTON, VA – Chris E. Jensen has been named president and publisher of The Daily Advertiser at Lafayette, La., it was announced today by the Newspaper Division of Gannett Co., Inc.
Jensen had been president and publisher of The Times at Gainesville, Ga., since 1998. A successor to Jensen in Gainesville will be named shortly.
“I am pleased that Chris is joining our new colleagues in Lafayette,” said Gary L. Watson, president of the Newspaper Division. “His experience and leadership, combined with the talent at The Daily Advertiser, will mean even greater success for the newspaper.”
Gannett acquired The Daily Advertiser earlier this year as part of its purchase of 19 Thomson newspapers. Gannett now operates five daily newspapers in Louisiana. Jensen succeeds Ed Moss, who resigned.
Jensen, who joined Gannett in 1965, was an advertising manager in Pensacola, Fla., and later a publisher in Muskogee, Okla., Great Falls, Mont., and El Paso, Texas, before joining Gainesville.
