Gannett Announces Preliminary Agreement to Acquire Army Times Publishing Co.
ARLINGTON, Va. — A preliminary agreement for Gannett Co., Inc., to acquire Army Times Publishing Company has been reached, it was announced today.
Closing on the acquisition is expected to take place later this summer. Terms of the deal were not announced.
Army Times Publishing, located in Springfield, Va., includes six weekly newspapers and one monthly publication.
The titles include Army Times, Navy Times with a separate Marine Corps edition, Air Force Times, Federal Times, Defense News, Space News and Military Market. Total paid and controlled circulation is approximately 360,000.
Gannett is a nationwide news and information company that publishes 90 daily newspapers, including USA TODAY, and USA WEEKEND, a newspaper magazine. Gannett also operates 18 television stations, five radio stations, cable television systems in five states and alarm security services.
