McLEAN, VA – In response to questions arising from the Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI) first-quarter earnings conference call and Webcast today, the following clarification is issued: Gannett is comfortable with most First Call estimates in the range of $1.11 to $1.13 per share for the second quarter of 2002.
