Gannett Broadcasting Stations Win 39 Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards
McLEAN, VA – Gannett (NYSE: GCI) announced 13 of its broadcasting stations won 39 regional 2011 Edward R. Murrow awards. The competition is sponsored by the Radio Television Digital News Association and honors outstanding achievements in electronic journalism. Gannett Broadcasting’s 39 regional Murrow awards are once again the largest number awarded to any broadcast group.

Four Gannett stations were among those winning the highest award for “Overall Excellence”:

KUSA-TV in Denver, CO, which won a total of seven awards;
KARE-TV in Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN, which won a total of seven awards;
WGRZ-TV in Buffalo, NY, which won a total of seven awards;
KSDK-TV in St. Louis, MO, which won a total of five awards.
