Gannett Elects Board Members, Declares Dividend

McLEAN, VA – Shareholders of Gannett Co., Inc. (GCI-NYSE) today re-elected three members of the Board of Directors at the annual meeting held at the company’s headquarters.

They are: James A. Johnson, Stephen P. Munn and Gannett Chairman, President and CEO Douglas H. McCorkindale.

The board of directors also declared a regular quarterly dividend of 25 cents per share, payable on July 1, 2004, to shareholders of record on June 4, 2004.
