Gannett Names Joseph Cavone President, Publisher in Parsippany, NJ

McLEAN, VA- Joseph L. Cavone, a 30-year veteran of the newspaper business, has been named president and publisher of the Daily Record in Parsippany, NJ, Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI) announced today.

Cavone most recently served as vice president-marketing for the Asbury Park (NJ) Press, Home News Tribune and Ocean County Newspapers in NJ.

“Joseph’s newspaper experience and knowledge of the New Jersey market make him an ideal fit,” said Robert T. Collins, senior group president of Gannett’s Atlantic Coast Newspaper Group. “He understands the needs of our advertisers and readers in the community and will contribute greatly to the newspaper’s continued success.”

Cavone began his career in 1977 as a local sports reporter for The News Tribune in Woodbridge, NJ, which was later combined with the Home News in East Brunswick, NJ. He is a four-time Gannett President’s Rings winner for outstanding performance.
