Gannett Wins Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards

McLEAN, VA -Gannett’s Broadcast Division today announced its stations
had won a total of 28 regional Edward R. Murrow awards in the 2007 annual competition.
Three of the awards were for Overall Excellence.

The Edward R. Murrow awards, which honor outstanding achievement in broadcast
and Web journalism, were announced by the Radio-Television News Directors Association
(RTNDA). Of the 13 regions identified by RTNDA, Gannett won awards in 11 of
them.

Recipients of the regional Murrow award automatically compete for the national
awards, which are given in October 2007 at a dinner in New York City.

“Professional journalism and the pursuit of excellence thrive at every
Gannett station and within every Gannett employee,” said Roger Ogden,
president and CEO of Gannett Broadcasting. “The recognition that we have
received through these Edward R. Murrow awards truly attests to that. I am very
proud of our stations’ quality work and service to their communities.”
