TEGNA Media Promotes Key Executives

Lynn Beall, Mark Cornetta Expand Responsibilities; Steve Carter Promoted to President and General Manager of KUSA

McLEAN, VA – TEGNA Inc. (NYSE: TGNA) announced today that three key executives are taking on new and expanded roles within TEGNA Media, the company’s local broadcasting division.

  • Lynn Beall was named executive vice president and chief operating officer of TEGNA Media after serving as executive vice president;
  • Mark Cornetta moves to executive vice president of TEGNA Media from senior vice president of TEGNA Media and president and general manager of KUSA in Denver, CO;
  • Steve Carter assumes the role of president and general manager of KUSA after serving in the same position at WCSH in Portland, ME.

Prior to being named executive vice president, Beall was president and general manager of KSDK in St. Louis, MO for 16 years. Beall has also served in several station leadership roles across TEGNA Media including director of marketing and programming at KPNX in Phoenix, AZ and national sales manager at WUSA in Washington, DC.

Cornetta is a nearly 30 year veteran of KUSA, serving as the station’s president and general manager for the past 11 years. He has also served as KUSA’s general sales manager, local sales manager and national sales manager.

Carter returns to KUSA after five years as president and general manager of WCSH. Previously, Carter worked at KUSA from 1992 through 2011, eventually becoming vice president of marketing and promotion.
