Gannett Completes Sale of Outdoor Division
ARLINGTON, Va. — The previously announced sale of Gannett Co., Inc.’s Outdoor Division to Outdoor Systems was completed today. Outdoor Systems also exercised an option to buy Gannett Outdoor’s operations in Houston, Texas, subject to its obtaining any applicable governmental approvals.
The purchase price for the division, including Gannett Outdoor operations in Houston, Texas, is approximately $710 million.
Gannett is a nationwide news and information company that publishes 92 daily newspapers, including USA TODAY, and USA WEEKEND, a newspaper magazine. Gannett also has entertainment programming, 11 radio stations, cable television systems in five states,security systems and the largest outdoor advertising company in North America.
