Employee Resource Programs

At Gannett, strong commitment to inclusion is an important part of the company culture and our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) provide platforms for fostering an inclusive workplace. Our ERGs are voluntary, employee-led groups that serve as a resource for members and align with our mission, vision and purpose. These groups are a great way to meet and interact with other employees who have similar interests while promoting mentorship and professional development.

Gannett’s ERGs include:
Connexions

ConneXions, which serves to educate, equip and empower women across Gannett by engaging and developing women through three major pillars: Professional Development, Networking and Outreach.

The group works to support Gannett in its effort to retain women in the top-talent pool by identifying and cultivating employees with leadership potential. Members have the opportunity to grow their careers and contribute to the company’s success by meeting new people, understanding new skill sets and giving back to the greater good. It was created in 2011.

TYPO

Tysons’ Young Professionals Organization (TYPO), which serves as a social channel for young professionals to connect with each other, develop and grow in the Washington, D.C., area.

Created in 2014, the group fosters a supportive workplace culture and brings together young professionals together for three key purposes: professional development, service and social engagement.

Veterans ERG

The Gannett Veterans Employee Resource Group will identify challenges and opportunities faced by this employee group in order to gain better self-awareness, advance their ability to leverage skill and experience in the Gannett work environment to achieve their full potential, assist group members in career development, and facilitate further development of Gannett workforce to meet the needs of this group. Gannett Veterans falls under the Gannett Leadership and Diversity umbrella, reporting to the group’s adviser. Eleven officers make up the leadership team that decides the group’s events and activities. It consists of a chair and co-chair that facilitate the monthly meetings and decide agendas. Represented in the group are employees from across Gannett. Gannett Veterans is open to any and all members of the company, including full-time and part-time employees, who are committed to accomplishing the objectives of Gannett Veterans.
