Executive Appointments Announced

MCLEAN, VA – Two executive promotions were announced today by Douglas H. McCorkindale, chairman, president and CEO of Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI):

Larry Miller, executive vice president and chief financial officer, has been named executive vice president/operations and chief financial officer of Gannett.

Gracia Martore, treasurer and vice president/investor relations, has been named senior vice president of finance and treasurer.

Miller, 63, a 40-year veteran of Gannett, will work with McCorkindale to improve operational efficiencies in the company and will continue his operational role with Newsquest plc, Gannett’s division in the United Kingdom.

“Larry Miller has been a key factor in this company’s success during his four decades here. His extensive knowledge of the way Gannett works will be invaluable as we study ways to make the company even better,” said McCorkindale.

Martore, 50, a native of Boston and a graduate of Wellesley College, joined Gannett in 1985 as assistant treasurer after 12 years in the banking industry. She will add to her supervisory duties in the finance department and continue her responsibility for investor relations and as treasurer.

“Gracia Martore’s take-charge energy and tireless work for Gannett have made her an invaluable leader in the company. This additional role is a reflection of our confidence in her,” McCorkindale said.
