Gannett Sells Macon, Ga., Radio Stations
ARLINGTON, Va. – Gannett Co., Inc., announced today that it has sold its two Macon, Ga., radio stations, WMAZ-AM and WAYS-FM, to Ocmulgee Broadcasting in Macon.
The sale price was not disclosed.
With the sale of the Macon stations, Gannett Broadcasting will consist of 15 television stations, 11 radio stations, cable television systems in five states, an entertainment programming unit and alarm security services.
In addition to its broadcasting operations, Gannett also publishes 92 daily newspapers, including USA TODAY, and USA WEEKEND, a newspaper magazine. Gannett also operates the largest outdoor advertising company in North America.
