J. Bruce Klink Named vice President/Financial Operations, Newspaper Division

ARLINGTON, VA — J. Bruce Klink has been named vice president/financial operations in the Newspaper Division, it was announced today.

Klink formerly was director/finance at FLORIDA TODAY in Brevard County and group controller for the South Newspaper Group. He succeeds David F. Licko, who earlier was named vice president/finance at The Indianapolis Star.

“Bruce’s breadth of experience makes him very well suited to move into this expanded division-wide role,” said Gary L. Watson, president of the Newspaper Division.

Klink joined Gannett in 1983 as controller at the Commercial-News in Danville, Ill. In 1988, he was named to a similar position at the Press & Sun-Bulletin in Binghamton, NY. He became vice president/finance at the Rochester (NY) Democrat and Chronicle in 1996. He joined FLORIDA TODAY and the South Newspaper Group in 1998.

Klink holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Eastern Illinois University.

A successor to Klink will be named shortly.
