Jeff Bergin Named Director/Advertising in Newspaper Division

MCLEAN, Va. – Jeff Bergin, display advertising manager of The News-Press at Fort Myers, Fla., has been named director/advertising at the Gannett Newspaper Division, effective January 1, 2002.

Bergin, who was named one of Gannett’s outstanding retail advertising managers in 2000, replaces Susan Linsey, who was named vice president/advertising of Gannett Wisconsin Newspapers earlier this month.

Bergin joined Gannett in 1989 as retail advertising manager of The Courier-News in Bridgewater, N.J. and was named to his position in Fort Myers in 1993. He began his newspaper career in 1983 with The Transcript-Telegram in Holyoke, Mass.

“Jeff brings an impressive record of success in creating and implementing programs that create powerful results for advertisers,” said Donald M. Stinson, vice president/advertising of the Newspaper Division and president of the Gannett Retail Advertising Group. “We are excited to have him put his skills to work for Gannett newspapers all across the country.”
