Lindus Named President and Publisher at Montgomery, AL
McLEAN, VA – Cheryl Lindus, advertising director of the Springfield News-Leader at Springfield, MO, today was named president and publisher of the Montgomery Advertiser in Montgomery, AL.
“Cheryl has a unique ability to identify and target key audiences and has a deep commitment to community journalism,” said Bob Dickey, president of Gannett’s U.S. Community Publishing. “She is a strong leader, with an understanding of building relationships. I believe she will do an excellent job in this new position.” Lindus has been the advertising director at the Springfield News-Leader since July 2005. Prior to Springfield she was the advertising director of the Huntington (WV) Herald-Dispatch and advertising director of The Star Press in Muncie, IN. She was recognized with a Gannett President’s Ring for achievement in 2007.
Lindus began her career as an advertising clerk in 1983 in Muncie and was named to a sales position in 1986. In 1999 she rose to the position of advertising director and then was promoted to a similar position in Huntington.
Lindus replaces Scott Brown who resigned.
