Gannett Broadcasting Agrees to Sell Syndicated Programs to MCA

ARLINGTON, Va. — Gannett Broadcasting has agreed to sell to MCA syndicated programs produced by Multimedia Entertainment including “Sally Jessy Raphael,” “Jerry Springer,” “Pat Bullard” and several international programs. The transaction is subject to clearance under the Hart-Scott- Rodino Act.

The announcement was made by Cecil L. Walker, president and chief executive officer of Gannett Broadcasting.

“MCA has a fine reputation in the entertainment industry. Multimedia Entertainment’s syndicated programs will fit well with their portfolio,” Walker said.

Gannett is a nationwide news and information company that publishes 92 daily newspapers, including USA TODAY, and USA WEEKEND, a newspaper magazine. Gannett also operates 15 television stations, 11 radio stations, cable television systems in five states and alarm security services.
