Gannett Names Leslie Sears Assistant Controller

McLEAN, VA – Leslie Sears has been appointed an assistant controller of Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI), it was announced today. Sears was director of Consolidation Accounting and Financial Reporting for the company

“Since joining Gannett, Leslie has been a valuable member of Gannett’s finance team, playing a lead role in internal and external financial reporting as well as assisting business acquisition transitioning,” said Gracia Martore, senior vice president and chief financial officer. “She’s demonstrated strong financial skills and leadership qualities.”

Sears joined Gannett in 1998 from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where she was a senior audit manager. She is a certified public accountant and has a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Virginia.

Leslie replaces Frank Spasoff, who left Gannett to pursue other interests.
