How Dignity Memorial Partners with TEGNA to Honor Our Veterans & Military Heroes

The sacrifices made by those who serve our country should never be forgotten. Dignity Memorial teamed up with TEGNA stations across the country to honor our veterans and military heroes to help send the message that there is no greater honor than helping to remember a life lived.

The sacrifices made by those who serve our country should never be forgotten. Dignity Memorial®, the preferred provider of funeral and cremation services for members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and particular State Departments of the American Legion, is one organization committed to ensuring our veterans are always remembered and honored for their service.

“As we continue to care for the families we serve and our communities, we are also honored to support our public servants, veterans, and military servicemen and women who protect our freedom and sacrificed so much in the line of duty,” says Jay Waring, Senior Vice President, and Chief Operating Officer, which operates a diverse portfolio of brands including Dignity Memorial.

“Every veteran is entitled to certain VA benefits, but these do not come automatically,” Waring adds. “Whether veterans and their families are planning or have an immediate need, our knowledgeable advisers can help them to understand better and maximize the benefits they’re entitled to receive. “

Salute to Service Campaign

To help promote its message of honoring Veterans and to generate awareness for its services, Dignity Memorial is teaming up with TEGNA stations across the country to honor our veterans with a Salute to Service. This campaign includes a 15-second PSA that will run in several markets, including Phoenix, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Denver, Charlotte, Austin, Seattle, and Tampa. These PSAs also ran digitally on each station’s website and apps.

“We’re thrilled to bring Salute to Service back to our local viewers and honor those who have served our country this Veterans Day,” says Gillian Busch, Senior Marketing Strategist at TEGNA. “When we can partner with a brand like Dignity Memorial on an initiative that is also so important to our local stations, it makes our partnership that much more meaningful.”

“At TEGNA, we know Veterans Day is very important to Dignity Memorial, and it’s also very important to us,” says Mary Welter, Account Executive at TEGNA. “Knowing that a good company like ours is willing to take the time to dedicate a unique sponsorship for veterans and make it happen across all TEGNA stations is pretty unique.”

After all, TEGNA is no stranger to programs honoring our veterans. Carry the Load is another example of a multi-market program that honors our veterans for Memorial Day.

Welter adds, “TEGNA has the resources to active programs like these quickly, so a huge part of Dignity Memorial’s success is the ease of execution in which we operate.”

TEGNA’s partnership with Dignity Memorial will not only honor our Veterans across the country but also generate awareness for the Dignity brand and help it grow nationally. It’s what being in good company is all about – doing good by doing well.
