TEGNA’s new e-book, “Taking Off: Understanding Today’s Leisure Traveler,” has more than its fair share of exciting insights when it comes to reaching today’s tourists. For example, as inflation concerns continue to linger, some tourists aren’t completely cutting trips out of the budget. They’re just cutting down the distance they’re traveling.

Make way for the hometown tourists looking for rest, relaxation, and adventure in places closer to home. Tourist attractions that typically cater to out-of-town visitors can not only attract locals by promoting special exclusive discounts for residents but also get their message to the masses via local broadcast TV.

WWL’s Great Day Lousiana is one great example, as it has a One-Tank Trips segment featuring host Malik Mingo. In these segments, Mingo gives viewers a first-hand look at local activities, attractions, people, and cuisine that make each area of New Orleans so special.

Several brands, such as Visit Baton Rouge, The Battle House Renaissance Mobile and Spa, French Quarter Phantoms Tours, and Buccaneer State Park, have partnered with One Tank Trips to reach and engage potential travelers.

But TEGNA’s WWL isn’t the only one getting in on the action. Watch some examples of One-Tank Trip highlights from TEGNA stations below, sponsored and not sponsored:
