Developing a marketing plan that closely aligns with your business plan in the new year is an important task for any business. It allows you to set clear goals and objectives, identify your target consumer, and develop strategies and tactics to reach and engage them.  

Here are six steps you can follow to create a marketing plan for the new year and some ways that TEGNA and 11Alive can help you.    

  1. Review your current marketing efforts: What is working and what is not? Identify areas for improvement and areas where you should continue to focus your efforts.
  2. Set clear goals and objectives: Determine what you want to achieve by this time next year.  Ideally, what progress will lead to good business outcomes for you? Do you want to increase brand awareness, drive website traffic, or generate more leads? By setting clear goals and objectives, you can stay focused and have a benchmark to measure your success.
  3. Identify your target consumer: Who are you trying to reach with your marketing efforts?
