It’s tax time again, and that means millions of Americans are filing tax returns with the IRS – but not without confusion.

In 2021, visits to IRS.gov increased by 19% from 2020, showing that consumers have questions when it comes to filing their annual taxes, so much so that 55% opted to use a tax professional. The same study reveals that more than 33% of consumers procrastinate. 22% think it’s too complicated or stressful, and 10% are not in a rush

Looking back at 2020 refund spending, 20% of Americans regret how they spent their tax refunds, with 46% believing they should have saved the money, and 40% wishing they used the money for necessary expenses.
