As the official car wash of TEGNA’s WTHR in Indianapolis, Crew Carwash knows the importance of a good partnership. Watch as Sally Grant, the company’s Vice President, discusses how working with WTHR for more than 15 years has helped the company grow and expand into new markets outside of Indiana.

Founded in 1948, Crew Carwash’s 40 locations throughout Indiana are well-known for their brand promise of Clean, Fast, and Friendly. Nearly 15 years ago when the company partnered with TEGNA affiliate WTHR, it was looking for a company that shared those values.  

“Like us, they believe in great customer service and that’s really what they’ve delivered, says Sally Grant, Vice President of Crew Carwash. “They’ve gone above and beyond when we’ve asked them to help us, whether that be to help us partner with local nonprofit groups, or create a specific campaign around hiring and recruiting or special promotions.”  

Part of that above-and-beyond service includes being named the official Car Wash of WTHR. The honor comes with additional brand awareness opportunities, putting the Crew brand top of mind with car owners and WTHR viewers. Pair that success with the excellent customer service Crew offers, and it’s no wonder the brand is expanding into new markets.  

“We are very excited to be growing outside of Indiana into the Minnesota market,” says Grant. “And we are glad WTHR and TEGNA have been able to help us on our journey of growth.”  

With these expansion plans, Crew will be focusing on grassroots marketing, and the precise targeting of OTT will be one of the tools the company uses to drive traffic to its new locations in Minnesota. Another is WTHR’s video production.   

“Our image at Crew Carwash is very, very important. Whatever we put out there on TV or online ads, we really wanted to reflect what we’re known for,” says Grant. “WTHR and TEGNA have really given us a good product.”

“Giving back to the community is a huge part of what we do at Crew Carwash, and is a huge part of our success,” says Grant. “We’re happy that WTHR and TEGNA have helped us promote these events, nonprofits, and charities to help us raise a lot of money to put back into the community.”
